Testimonials

"Joey has taught us so much about the business and made us feel more at ease in front of the camera. Since starting this class, I’ve found a new confidence on auditions and even booked a great job! He gives very constructive critiques of our performances with specifics on how to make them more effective, believable and entertaining. I witnessed even the shyest student break out of their shell with Joey’s guidance. It is obvious that Joey is a great actor and teacher that cares about his students. His hilarious and animated personality kept us captivated and made the class fly by. This was a fantastic class and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get into acting and even to more experienced actors." - Holly Mixon

About This Class

This 2-session virtual workshop will introduce the beginning actor, or the theater actor who is making the transition to the on-camera industry, to critical techniques required when auditioning in a virtual/self-submit environment or an in-person studio environment.   Utilizing a variety of scripts from past auditions, participants will work in front of the camera each session to improve their ‘cold-read’ skills while learning how to work with directors and casting directors effectively.  In each exercise, participants will learn tricks of top bookers and how to avoid the bad habits that knock an actor out of the running at an audition.

This workshop is jam-packed with valuable information and tools that will prepare the actor for a professional audition setting. While being fun and informative, this workshop also boasts a very supportive setting in a small class environment.

Wickline Casting is fortunate to have this stellar instructor to offer such a widely sought and rarely offered course. Scripts will be distributed in advance of each class. Classes will include short breaks.
